Hively: Transition into Retirement Together
Happy new year everyone! ✨
In 2023, we had the joy of meeting many of you, hosted 40+ events in partnership with incredible experts, and launched our hives program. We could not be more grateful for what this community has grown into thanks to the energy and ideas brought forward by all of you.
What amazed us the most has been the magic of our hives program - from discussions on finding new meaning, developing a winter strategy, to changing family dynamics, we’ve covered a ton of ground and created a special, supportive space for members to gather biweekly and spend time together.
In 2024, we’re working hard to open up spots for new hives (see below for sign-up details and thanks for those who have already done so!), collaborate with additional organizations, and cook up new experiences for all of you.
As always, please feel free to email me at [email protected] with any questions / comments / ideas - we'd love to hear from you!
Welcome to Hively and “Transition into Retirement Together” Meetup group’s weekly newsletter! This is where you’ll find announcements on upcoming events and resources to navigate retirement and discover what’s next, together.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
🐝 New hives launching in January - sign-ups open!
Looking for peer support, community, and inspiration for discovering what’s next? Join our hives program to gather biweekly with a 8-10 others who are also navigating retirement. Each virtual session is led by a facilitator and discusses topics including finding purpose, creating structure, and staying socially and physically active. We’ll be kicking-off our next hives in mid-late January!
WHAT WE’RE LOVING
🗞 Four 80-year-old men finished a 100-mile race. Here’s how they did it.
Looking for some inspiration on new year’s resolutions? Meet the octogenarians who competed in the USA Track and Field 100-mile road championship. Finishing a 100-mile race is remarkable at any age. But in the world of ultramarathons, it’s not uncommon to see runners competing in their 60s, 70s and 80s - check out this Washington Post article to read about how some of them picked up running later in life.

Warmly,
