Welcome to Hively and “Transition into Retirement Together” Meetup group’s weekly newsletter! This is where you’ll find announcements on upcoming events and resources to navigate retirement and discover what’s next, together.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
👩🏻💻 We’ve soft launched our very own website! Directly sign-up for our events, browse a directory of resources shared by all of you, and explore our new blog!
🧡 Interested in gathering with a smaller group for peer support around navigating retirement? Sign-up for our small-group cohort program to connect every other week with 8-12 members. We’ll be kicking-off new cohorts as we get enough interest for a specific time slot!
WHAT WE’RE LOVING
💊 Free Medicare Consultation with Keen
Last week, we partnered with Scott Matthews, a licensed Medicare advisor from Keen, to host a discussion on “Insider’s guide to Medicare's next enrollment season”. With the enrollment season starting Oct. 15, Scott has offered a free 1-hour, objective, no obligation Medicare consult to our members. Learn more and sign-up for an appointment here.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Wednesday 8/16 at 6:30-7:30pm EST & Thursday 8/17 at 6:30-7:30pm EST: Walk with a Doc walking group around the Brookline Reservoir (in-person)
One of our wonderful members Donna, a physician, leads a walking group around the Brookline Reservoir. The walks will include a short health talk at the beginning. Join a group of us to attend together! RSVP here.
Friday 8/18 at 1-2pm EST: Article discussion on “Confronting the challenges of solo aging” (virtual)
What do "solo agers" need to uniquely consider in navigating retirement? The latest issue of the Generations Journal from American Society of Aging features articles that provide a deeper look into the lives of "Solo Agers." We'd like to create a space for those exploring this landscape - join us in discussing and reflecting together on 2 of these articles. RSVP here.
SUPPORT OUR HIVE
💌 We need your help! Your support will help us keep this group running:
Donate to our group here (under “Fundraising). Your contributions will help us by sharing some of our organizing costs and fund future events. Alternatively, you can Venmo us at @angela-gu.
Help us spread the word. The more members we have, the more types of events we can organize. We’d really appreciate your help with sharing our site (or our social media links below) to your community.
As always, feel free to reach out with any questions and suggestions.
Warmly,
Angela + Jenn
